Role Overview - Sales & Relationship Manager
Position Summary
This is a consultative selling role; you’ll be working closely with brand teams as well as their agency partners (i.e. sales promotion, digital, and media planning agencies). You’ll be focused on understanding their marketing/campaign plans and objectives, scoping-out their requirements, and identifying challenges they’re facing.
Success will depend on your ability to build relationships at all levels, enthusiasm to influence decisions and the tenacity and resilience to address objections and win over more challenging accounts. This requires a professional approach, tenacity as well as good commercial awareness.
We’re seeking experienced business developer with extensive experience selling marketing services into the FMCG sector, preferably within sales promotions and online marketing, however, other areas will be considered. You must have a real desire to progress your career within a young, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive entire sales cycle; from securing meetings with decision makers at various levels, needs analysis, clarifying requirements, presenting potential campaigns, addressing objections, order completion, reviewing and appraising results, renewal, with both established and prospective clients.
- Secure new FMCG clients for our suite of printable-coupon based promotional marketing solutions.
- Increase business (frequency & value) attained from an assigned list of 10-15 priority clients at various stages of development.
- Understand and client’s requirements, and accurately convey them to Client Services team so that campaigns are well executed.
- Commercial relationship management – strong desire to provide your clients with a professional and responsive service on a day-to-day basis
- Build a network of business relationships with clients and their agency partners, which will yield sales opportunities.
- Accurately forecast, track, and report sales revenue. Exceed sales targets by actively managing your pipeline and selling at the necessary rates. Maintain accurate profile/status for each customer and opportunities using salesforce.com (our sales CRM database)
- Potential for future team leadership and direct reports.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 7 years successful B2B sales experience preferably in Promotions, Online Marketing, other Marketing Service ideally with a focus on FMCG or grocery retailers and some knowledge of couponing or direct marketing principles.
- Previous track record of selling to senior-level decision-makers – both direct to client and via their agency partners.
- Passionate about selling and creating value for clients - understanding of consumer marketing, online marketing, promotions, campaign planning and client ROI.
- Self-motivated and results driven, solution-oriented, direct and convincing when it's right for the customer. Accountable to senior management.
- Able to be convincing and commanding on the phone/email, and to quickly establish credibility and rapport with your prospects & clients.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment - outside of the corporate comfort zone.
- Solid computer skills including Power Point & Excel. Ability to use these skills to support your communications, organisation and productivity.(i.e. compiling proposals, forecasts, writing sales documents etc)
- Experience using sales databases such as Salesforce.com or similar.
- Mature, organised with a high-attention to detail and tenacious approach.
- Degree educated (essential), strong background of academic and extra-curricular achievement.
- Excellent references (recent and relevant) from both former clients and employers, able to demonstrate previous career track record and sales success.
- Hungry and passionate to develop their career through demonstration of their ability.
- Office based with regular UK travel, scope for some home working subject to your location.

- Salary: Subject to experience + commission
